Repair rust in washing machine tub?
Does anyone know how to repair the rust spots inside a washing machine
where the porcelain has chipped, preferably inexpensively and without removing the tub. Thanks. |

Thanks. Sanding till all you see is shiny metal, wiping down with alcohol to degrease, and smearing a little epoxy over the spot? Strongly suspect it will be a futile effort, since their are probably also rust spots between the inner and outer tubs, and other points in the water flow path. Are you getting rust stains on whites? More likely to be the water supply than the washer at fault. I used worn out rusty laundromat washers for years, and never had any stains show up. As cheap as used washers are, probably not worth a whole lot of money or effort to repair. aem sends.... |
