F3TCGPT is the name of an advanced amateur design for a
Triple-Function-Temperature-Controlled Glow-plug Timer. These and

The first design features several innovative features, which may not
normally be found in conventional industrial designs, such as a
non-stalling timing device used to trigger a 555 chip over periods of
over 20 seconds, using capacitors and no digital chip. Other features
a a threshold protector enabling sensitive switching without
overload, compensator gate for signal attenuation when output stage is
separated from main circuit by long wires, and a negative-impulse
trigger activator.
Further designs mentioned include a cut-out device to protect a
photo-voltaic solar panel from power surges when travelling bumpy
roads, and an easy to install and adapt burglar alarm.
