Relay ratings
Hello All,
I have DC SPDT relay that is rated 1A at 24VDC. If the voltage used in my circuit is only 5 volts can you figure on getting away with a larger amperage rating? Thanks. -Rylos |

The 1amp rating is because of acring not power dissipation. You should
not exceed the one amp rating when making or breaking the contacts or arcing will degrade the relay contacts.
