I broke the bloody telescopic aerial didn't I
Hi
Bought a Karaoke machine for my niece, took it out the box and broke the aerial - someone pinch me. I have since discovered the screw holding the aerial to the swivel point had been overtightened, consequently, when I tried to adjust the aerial, the swivel point did not move. Something had to give and it turned out to be the metal near the base of the aerial (some kind of metal / tissue paper alloy) Don't want to take it back as it was a bargain from argos and they have no more stock. I am trying to find a replacement telescopic aerial but can't quite find the right one so I was hoping one of you guys would point me in the right direction. Original aerial details: Telescopic aerial 5 stages (not important) 230mm retracted 970mm extended 6mm maximum diameter (I think) At the base of the aerial there is a single blade of metal (in the centre) which has a 3mm hole in it allowing it to be screwed to the karaoke machine aerial stub. (see maplins links below for pics) It doesn't matter how long it is as long as it's at least 230mm extended and less than 260mm retracted. The aerial is used for TV / radio reception but can't see anyone using the TV as it's a poor quality 5" black and white set. The radio might get used but it still has excellent reception without the aerial. Just don't really want to hand over a present with a broken aerial. Any help greatly appreciated. The closest I have found so far are here but one is a bit short, the other a bit long. http://www.maplin.co.uk/Search.aspx...y=2m9&source=15 http://www.maplin.co.uk/Search.aspx...y=2m9&source=15 Maplin codes L27AF or L28AF Any help greatly appreciated. |
