Default building adapter to plug nes controlets into pc

I need to know what chip will take the sieral signal from the 4021 shift
regester and unshift it to 8 bit parilal agane

does anybody know of a dual jotstick adapter 4 axies and 4 buttons per stick
adapter 4 usb

74hc164 would be one, there's probably a chip with a similar function in the
4000 family too.

or you could go all-out and use a USART

does anybody know of a dual jotstick adapter 4 axies and 4 buttons per stick
adapter 4 usb


IIRC some people have worked up parallel port versions for linux.

you want a serial-in parallel out shift register

Just get more than one USB joystick controller...
