Default Mains Adaptor

Can anybody advise me? I have little knowlege of electonics!
I have a mains adaptor for my CD walkman. It is described as
Input 240 v, 50Hz, 8w,
Output DC 6V 450mA.
Unfortunately it is broken, but I have another adapter..
.Input 240V 50Hz/11VA 4.5V
Output 6V 500mA.

Could I use this second unit to power my cd walkman ??

Any advise gratefully accepted.

Same answer here, should work but I'm not sure what 4.5v means either.

MAKE SURE that you have the correct polarity on the plug so that if the old
wall wart had + in the center, the replacement does, too!!!!!!!!!!

IF YOU plug in a reversed connector, your Sony Walkman will become a Sony
Deadman walking!!!
