Hi,
I wonder if someone can advise me on something. I have 2, 12v batteries and an electronic device which requires 19v. I would like this device mobile and wondered, if connecting the 2, 12v batteries to make 24v and connecting them to the 19v device, will this be safe? Would i damage the device if with the extra 5v? Regards, sean |

Can't tell from the information. It depends on the range of voltages your
device is designed to work from. You probably have no way of finding that out except to go for it. If your worried, work up from 19V by using some D cells (1.5V). By the way, your 12V battery is probably 13.8V actually. John Musselman wrote in message news ![]() Hi, I wonder if someone can advise me on something. Most mobile equipment can handle overvoltages of five to ten percent. Five
percent generally being safe. Since car batteries are actually 12.6 volts this would give you 25.2 volts with two in series. Therefo 100 * (25.2 - 19) /19 = 32.6 Percent You definetely DO NOT want to connect the equipment without reducing the voltage by 6.2 volts. A high probability exists that equipment damage would ensue. wrote in message news ![]() Hi, I wonder if someone can advise me on something.
