Default Sony DCR-TRV330 cassette lid rubs drum.

This Sony DCR-TRV330 records and plays back ok. The customer claims that it
might have been dropped. The result is that when the cassette is played, the
protective lid of the cassette is touching the top, metal hub of the drum.
As a result, there is a loud scraping noise whenever the drum is spinning.
If you manually lift the cassette lid a couple of millimeters, the noise
stops. So what is responsible for keeping the lid away from the drum?

Thanks for your reply.
