Default Limited TV picture

Hello
I am not sure if there is a more specific forum for TV related
problems so please let me know if this is the case
I have a Sony Trinitron kv-m2511u/5 which is 25" monitor. Picture is
fine however picture does not commonly fill whole screen at top and
bottom. What is confusing is that on some programmes the picture does
fill the whole screen eg. yesterday when i was watching Athletics.
Reception is routed through a Goodmans video player. I am in the UK
watching just Terrestrial channels.

Any comments?

Solder connections or bad capacitor(s) in the vertical circuit. Time for a
repair.

Have you tried adjusting the vertical size?

Probable that he is viewing Letter Box videos, or some of the programming is
broadcast in that particular format?

Can't tell you how many times I've personally gone out on a trouble call to
"Teach" the customer how to RTFM which illustrates the different aspect
displays and types of reproduction in plain English, Spanish, and
ocassionally French depending on the manufacturer. Makes an easy service
call if the customer is teachable and understands what is being communicated
to them. Even some DVDs are recoeded "Letter Box" on one side and "Full
Screen" on the other.
Just another way to baffel the masses?? Eh. plotherea of uses with no real
advantage.
