Default Black lines across tv screen

I have an older JVC 27" television. Sometimes it has horizontal black lines
that go directly across the botton and middle of the set. They come and
they go but when they do come you can give the side of the set a good whack
and they go away, only to come back again later. Any idea why this occurs?

Thanks in advance

The black lines occur most likely because of "cold", cracked, or otherwise
faulty solder connections. Of course there could be other faults that
could cause this.
My advice to you is to STOP whacking the side of the television set.....
this problem will only get worse, it will not heal itself, and it will
probably get worse to the point that you can not make the problem go away or
the picture will collapse completely.....
......then the repair will be much more involved and more expensive than
fixing just the bad solder connections.
STOP using this television and get it to a service shop for a proper repair
or at the very least a repair cost estimate so you can make an intelligent
repair decision with facts instead of internet or telephone wild guesses.
Most likely this will not be a very expensive repair unless you continure to
"nurse" this along and delay getting the proper repair done.
