Default question about my tv

I figured this would be the best place to ask this question. While I
was doing some rewireing the other day I happened to noticed that there
was a current comming down the coax from my tv [read: i got a small
shock when i touched the end of the cable] The tv was on at the time,
and the amount of current was small, but this struck me as odd. I'd
probably compare it to licking your finger and sticking it across a 9v.
I've had trouble with the tv in the past and had it fixed. But,
curently I'm having reception troubles on certain channels only on this
tv, and I'm wondering if this couldn't be part of the problem.

Just wanted a second opinion before I go to the store and get a
replacement this time.

TIA,
Shaun

Cable shield is ground, and the set is capacitively coupled
to AC through the power transformer. Maybe on the order
of 60 Volts through a couple hundred PicoFarads. May also
have a resistor of 1 MegOhm or so to bleed off static.
Unless something else gets leaky in the set, there's usually
not enough current to cause a problem.

There's also an effect caused by running the set with the
cable disconnected. High voltage charges the picture tube
positive, which drives the unconnected set ground negative.
There's very little current available, but you can get a
little spark and a tickle.
