Default Lose focus when hot IBM monitor

I have low hours IBM P260 monitor
Suddenly after an hour both focus trims (voltage) suddenly start walking (in
about 10 seconds) , I suspect the divider (part of the flyback)
Any help or low cost source for a flyback would be appreciated.

There are usually several causes for that type of fault. The main one is the
HV multiplier on the flyback assembly. IBM will not sell the part, other
than you sending the monitor in to their authorized service centre to have
them service it. This type of repair can average about $120 to $150
including the part.

For some computer monitor types, there used to be replacement flyback
assemblies sold by various parts dealers. These are now very scarce, since
many of the parts for CRT type monitors are out of production, and continue
to decrease. Most of the manufactures are no longer making CRT monitors any
more. We used to pay anywhere from $30 to about $120 for a flyback,
depending on the manufacture and model type.

Other causes of focus drift are the CRT failing, or something along the
focus voltage path to the CRT focus grid.

Thanks Jerry, Min was also going to bright at the same time

Sony "may have" put a 10 meg 1/4 watt resistor (R-459 on the CRT board) that
"walks" with age. I'm going to do the mod below and see what happens. It's a
bug in these IBM P260, Dell P110 (Sony built) IBM denies the problem and
wont tell me the service update

Wish I could find a schematic and sort it out, I think the CRT heater's burn
to hot also, See: http://www.hutzelman.com/home/hardware/mods/monitor/

Shame Sony Flybacks cost me around $45-$60, going to keep my eye curbside on
garbage night.

Anybody have an idea ?

You might also have bad electrolytic capacitors. Check the capacitors in
the
HP power supply as well.
