Default Need Repair Hints

Hi all, I wonder if any body could help me repair my USB Cradle for
Sony Clie. It charges the PDA alright, but when I connect it to USB
Port, it does not response. I checked it with different computers and
the result is the same. I checked the continuity of USB wires, they
seems to be ok. Some thing wrong with the circuit.

Is it possible to repair it, if it is how ?
Any help would be appreciated very much.

Okay, has it ever worked, at all?

what computer are you running? PC with Windows? Then have you installed
all the newest drivers/updates for the Sony Clie?

If youre running Windows98 ? Most likely the USB simply does not work and
never will. Get WinXP

Got WinXP?

what are your settings in the bios when you boot up? hit delete or F1 or ?
and check to see if your USB is enabled or not

enable it

now if you have the power to the base thing, and the Clie sitting there, and
windows is up and running, and you THEN plug in the USB cable?? It should
start to get busy and come up with a box that says "New Hardware found" and
identify the thing as Sony whatever

If you have done all that? take a new pencil and use the eraser to wipe the
contacts where it connects and try again.
