How do I recover a lost file in a computer?
The Problem
I have a Mercury TV Tuner Card installed in my PC. The programme was running
fine all the time until I come across this problem today. The icon for the
card which was placed on the desktop is no longer there. I also tried to
find it in find as well as in programme but I failed. When I tried to run
the setup programme from the cd it came with I receive this message " A
required.DLL file, NEWDEV.DLL, was not found." Could you please advise me on
how to retrieve the file again.

Regards

Just do a Google websearch of the name of the file
In your case NEWDEV.DLL, you will find lots of sites where you can download
the file

PC file recovery is slightly O.T. for this group, but I feel your pain. If
icons and files are mysteriously disappearing from your PC, the first thing
to do is make sure you don't have a virus. If you aren't running an
anti-virus program, here are 2 free resources.

Download and run McAfee 'Stinger'. It does a quick scan for over 40 viruses
and variants:

Trend Micro Housecall. Scan your PC right from their web page:
http://housecall.trendmicro.com/

The next place to go for help is the manufacturer of your TV tuner card. A
quick google search shows that they have an online forum to provide product
support.
