I have this set came in with the LED blinking. I did the soldering and
have found a shorted HOT, R607 the .10 ohm fuseable open, and I have
also been advised to replace the MX0841 as well. The original out of
the set is marked MX0841B. Fulton sells an MX0841-AB-F for 8.27 and my
local distributor has a plain MX0841 in stock for about half that. The
cost is no big deal but Fulton is 3 days away and I'm going on
vacation next week and want this set out of here before I leave. Is
there any difference between the three numbers? The local guy also has
the C5148 at 2.40 and the RCA version of this for 3.60 which I just
read here yesterday is a Sony part. I'm inclined to go with the RCA
part for the HOT as well. I'd appreciate any thoughts on this. Thanks,

I never heard of the MXD module or whatever of which you speak, but I'd say
there is a 99% chance it won't hurt to try it. They probably didn't re-etch the
board so that say Vcc is now input. Any problems you might have would be
related to the software, and umight/u be correctable by option settings in
the service menu.

Basically I'd give it a shot, I don't think you'll fry anything. If it doesn't
work, you're simply back where you started.

Now the Toshiba MVUS modules are a different story.
