Regards Keith -- I would go so far as to suggest that you remove the old switch - taking many pictures during the process - walk it down to your local electrical supply house, if you have one, and ask for ---- THIS. Alternately, remove it as above, and search on-line for one that will fit. Pretty standard NO (Normally Open) SPST (Single Pole Single Throw) microswitch. The only extra bit is the piece of plastic shown in the photo. If the OP's plastic is fine then he only needs the switch. Hunt around! Do get one that has regular electrical standards such as cUL for safeties sake! Don't get a cheap one from China, unless you want a bit more electrical fire/shock risk in your life. Some switches do use gold contacts - if the switch is under 1A chances are the contacts are gold flash (perhaps $0.01 worth of gold). Regards Keith 6A rated versions are quite common. External lever hardware can be removed - the basic microswitch action is unaltered. 15A rated versions are harder to source. Voltage and current ratings should be pretty apparent from the switch body markings. OMRON V10G or V15G are available from Digikey. RL |
