Default Sony CCD-F500 camcorder prob

Symptom: cylinder starts spinup, buzzes/hums/vibrates, then stops, followed
by eject prompt on LCD display.

I have no service lit. for this model.

If you have a specific part/tip, that would be grand. If not, is the
probable cause more likely to be a flatpack controller IC or lytics?

TIA,
Ray

Have you checked if both guides go down round the drum?

Tape loads/threads correctly and ejects correctly. It's only after a
transport function button (Play, FF, REW) is pressed that the unit
malfunctions. I've disassembled the unit and inspected the mechanics (cam,
gears, switches, etc.) -- all are ok.
