Default Problem - Horizontal lines, broken camera

I have digital camera (Olympus C-5050). Yesterday it fell down and something
is wrong now. On every photo there are terrible horizontal lines. But
everything else works OK(Zoom, Menu, LCD).
An example of the photo:

Is it possible to repair that? Is it a very seriuos problem? Maybe someone
knows what is wrong.
Thanks for an advice.

Could be a smashed CCD or the inter-board flexi-connector has been ripped.

It may be a break on the imaging board, or something with the pickup unit.
You will not be able to service this yourself. You will have to send the
unit to the manufacture.
