Hi. I was just given a Sharp QA-1650 LCD panel. It's an active matrix
panel that I put on an overhead projector to project on the wall. It doesn't work though. When I power it on, the Sharp logo comes up fine. But neither the composite, s-video or VGA inputs work right. At first, they'd all just show up with distorted video, like it couldn't sync properly. Now, it doesn't show anything from those inputs. But, the logo still shows perfect. I'd love to get this thing working, so if anyone can help me track down the problem, I'd be very grateful. Thanks! |

First, try and get a complete service manual from Sharp then follow the
diagnosis procedure. It is highly probable that you will need to change a complete circuit board rather than discrete components. Also you may want to check with PTS Electronics to se if they have abilities to rebuild some of the circuit boards for this device. The input circuit first should be checked for proper interconnect with the rest of the device, particularly those to the power supply and registration circuit boards. Also check the board for possible poor solder connections at the I/O plugs and sockets. The logo is probably being developed by a E-prom and is indicating that the registration boards are producing the proper signals to drive the lcd panel and that the panel indeed is functional. Be advised, some of the cabling in these devices, and plasma devices, is very delicate and can be very easily damaged. "BeefJerky" wrote in message ... Hi. I was just given a Sharp QA-1650 LCD panel.
