Default Help with Grundig systems?

Hi -

My Grundig tuner / MD / CD seems to have given up on me. I am looking
for help assessing what the problem is... (Seems that the unit has
power, but the CD player isn't operating properly - I think this is
preventing normal usage of the full system.)

Does Grundig have a decent support web site? Can anyone recommend an
authorised support body in London?

Thanks,
Chris

Default Help with Grundig systems?

The only thing you can do yourself is to clean the laser lens, and inspect
for anything that would be simple, as something mechanically jamming that
you can free yourself. These units are very sophisticated.

The tech is service trained, has the service manuals, and the proper test
equipment to diagnose the faults. There is not much that is a visual repair
in electronics equipment. If the unit is a low cost one, take care that the
cost of parts and labour can be expensive in relation to replacing the
complete player.

If you were to invest in to the service manual, the only thing you can do is
check the power supply section, with a DVM. The service manual should
indicate the test points, and give the values to expect. To go deeper, you
will require the proper tools recommended in the manual. If you contact
Grundig, they can tell you where to purchase their parts, and service
equipment, or to have someone authorized to service the unit for you.
