Default Toshiba convergence problem

I have a 4 year old Toshiba X81 series RPTV that has always had a
small problem with convergence in the upper right corner of the
screen. The red horiz lines on the grid curve up while the red vert
lines curve out, almost as if the upper right corner of the red gun is
being "pulled out" an inch or two. Is this caused by a problem in the
deflection yoke. The red gun was recently replaced for another
reason, but the problem was the same before and after the gun itself
was replaced. The red is just fine in the other 3 corners, and the
green and blue don't have the problem at all. Focus is fine in all
parts of the screen.

Either it needs one of the output ICs, likely because this is the natural
stretch, or the DC offset is too much.

You change the ICs first, they are most common, or you can check them with a
scope with differential inputs. I think your odds are 70% or better that it is
the output ICs.

Do it right, clean the sink completely and put a BEAD of compound right between
the screw holes, DO NOT spread the compound ! This assures less air pockets.
These things are stereo power amplifiers turned ALL THE WAY UP ALL THE TIME !,
they NEED to get rid of heat and thus the installation needs to be done
correctly.
