Default Problem with AIWA CD plyer...

AIWA NSX-V700 radio/CD player/tape combo.

Problem - CD will start rotating the tray and/or open the tray, randomly. Quick
access buttons (for disks 1,2,3) and remote control don't work when the problem
starts. Turning off the unit results in a motor sound that lasts ~45sec.

Anybody here knows what may be the cause for this problem?

Thanks!

The first place to look would be at the long 4 conductor flex cable from the
CD circuit board going to the drawer.... a common failure item for the
symptoms you described. The white colored cable is the most unreliable
version and the tan colored cable is the usual higher reliability
replacement and was found in the later units..
