Default JVC DVM90 Camcorder Inverted Video Blues

I have a JVC GR-DVM90U camcorder that has a video problem.

The problem is when I record images...

In the record mode the images on the display (and thus also on the tape) are
bad. The images look almost like they have inverted colors ?

Mainly they are "lime green", "blue" and "Fuchsia" (pink). The image is
correct (although hard to discern) but the colors are all wrong...

To see pictures:

Playback of tapes recorded on "another JVC" will work fine in this unit...
so playback is fine.

Any help is appreciated,

DG

Check for the "sixties psychedelic mode" special effects switch.
