Default Mitsubishi 50" big screen problem

Hi Guys:

My 9 year old Mits 50" big screen is jumping like crazy when a show or white
background commerical comes on. This does not happen anyother time. Just strong
white background shows or commericals cause this.

Anyone have any ideas? Is this something I can fix myself?

Please give me good news.

Thanks,
Scott

Electrolytic capacitors and lots of them.
Good news, an experienced technician with the proper equipment can perform a
good repair on the set, typically for under $350 if you can take the set in
for repair.
Bad news, someone with little experience should not attempt this set. It is
very likely that since you did not post even the most basic information
about troubleshooting performed and even a model number that you probably
lack the needed equipment or experience to attempt a repair on this set.

When it is all said and done expect between 15 and 60 capacitors to be found
bad not including those that might be on the pip board if your specific
model has the infamous Mitz PIP board.

Totally agreed, have them start with the pic in pic module and go from
there. Hopefuly the crap from the caps has not already ruined the traces on
the circuit boards.

Just make sure you take it to someone who does lots of these sets. Someone
who doesn't work on them often will waste your time and money if he doesn't
do his homework. If you posted the model number and symptom in the subject
line you might get some more specific responses that would be better
informed.
