Psychoacoustics matters too and unheard artifacts can annoy one on a subliminal level. nonsense. if you can't hear it, it makes no difference whatsoever. double-blind tests have proven this time and time again. I guess Fraunhofer[sic] wasted their money then. mp3 works by removing what you can't hear. By removing what can't be heard in noisy environments and/or on bad equipment. I'm not sure if mp3's by themselves removes dynamics, or if it is possible to keep the original dynamics.
