Man, 65, Accused Of Molesting Boy, 13
Police Raid Man's St. Clair Shores Home

ST. CLAIR SHORES, Mich. -- Police raided the home of a 65-year-old St.
Clair Shores man accused of molesting a 13-year-old boy.

On Friday, police went into the tightly packed home of George Dombrosis
on the 21000 block of Pleasant Road and confiscated 15 computers, four
laptops, a digital camera, photos of children and childrens toys.

The raid came after a 13-year-old told his mother that Dombrosis had
sexually molested him for the past year and a half.

Police said Dombrosis gained the boys trust by taking him out to dinner
and buying him gifts.

"He's a friend of the family and neighbor down the street. He became a
mentor and tutor for them, took him (the victim) in, teaching him math,
struggling in school," said St. Clair Shores Det. Harold Bergeron.

But then the relationship turned sexual after the boys father died,
police said.

The boys mother told police that she tried running a background check
on Dombrosis, but it failed to disclose his past.

In 1978, Dombrosis was convicted of first-degree criminal sexual conduct.

"He does have a prior, but it was in 1978 and sex offender list didn't
come out until 1982, and people didn't know," said Bergeron.

Dombrosis was arrested and charged with four counts of second degree
criminal sexual conduct. If convicted he faces a minimum of five years
in prison.

At a bond hearing Saturday in Macomb County, he told a judge, "I am not
a flight risk your honor.€�

Bond was set at $150,000. If released, he will have to wear a tether.

A formal arraignment is scheduled for Monday.
