Finlux-Marimekko 32" CRT T282x8
My personal TV has been condemned as beyond repair due to a faulty tube as diagnosed by repair tech. There was a damaged 470 ohm resistor on the board fixed to the tube neck which was replaced and he swopped over the guns as well. I'm not convinced and would like to hear some opinions on the following fault. All functions work ok but picture has a noticeable greeny/yellow haze on black and white films and also the same effect on a dark scene in colour. Black is the colour that has the most tinge of yellow/green. I can see strong red/green/blue images ok if the picture is bright. The TV has spent most of it's life on standby or on so never gets degaussed very often, I cycled the power switch many times last night and found that just before the picture appears the TV shows a full black screen which has this greeny/yellow tint, when it switches to picture on a BBC 16:9 signal for a second the black bars top and bottom look "normal" as does the picture, then the colour haze effect becomes noticeable. Does this TV have a fault that sounds repairable and if so can anyone point me in the right direction, I can make smoke with the best of them for component changes etc but am not a tech. I am used to HV and safe procedures so won't kill myself or others! (Sparks by trade but always dabbling!) I have looked at the LCD TV's that would replace this and have been amazed at the poor digital signal quality, until HD broadcasts are the norm I want to stick to my CRT! All help gladly accepted. -- Paul Luggar M0SCI Website WWW.M0SCI.CO.UK Amsat-UK Member 6484 www.m0sci.co.uk/forum Devon and Cornwalls Amateur Radio Message Board |

I forgot to add my local supplier/repair centre has closed (James TV
Barnstaple) and Finlux went bust so I have no idea where to go now. Even the local independent repair shop has gone now! -- Paul Luggar M0SCI Website WWW.M0SCI.CO.UK Amsat-UK Member 6484 www.m0sci.co.uk/forum Devon and Cornwalls Amateur Radio Message Board "Paul Luggar" wrote in message ...
