Default What projection LCD parts are available?

My mate's Samsung SP56L5HX1 appears to have a discoloured optical
component in the LCD Engine. WES Components in Sydney (Australia) are
quoting just over $2500 for a replacement LCD engine assembly.
Just wondering if anyone knows if individual parts of the LCD engine
are available? There's no mention of them in the service manual, but I
thought I'd ask just in case....

Bob,
We ran into same problem, having to purchase the "engine". I've heard
the alignment is difficult making individual component replacement not
easy. They don't know the ability of us "longtimers".

Hi,
In my haste I forgot to mention for everyone's benefit that this is
a large-screen rear projection TV I'm referring to. :-)
Ah, so that's their reason/excuse for only supplying the complete
assembly. Thanks for the information.
It's looking like my mate's going to be buying a new TV fairly soon...

Cheers
Bob
