257807, Will it sub for a 257805?
I have an original RCA 257807. I've asked this question before but I've
never really gotten an answer to it. My distributor says it is a perfect sub. He says to just cut off the screen plug and turn the screen voltage down. Ha, easy for him to say! The thing is though there is an extra pin on the 807 below the screen control. From where it is it looks like the ground for the screen control but Im not sure. It lines up perfectly with a hole on the board that has a jumper aready in it. Putting the extra pin in the hole along with the jumper will connect it to pin 5 on the flyback. It will also connect pin 5 and the extra pin through this jumper to wherever the jumper goes. Has anyone used the 807 as a sub for the 805, and if so could you please help to clarify this issue. I don't want to blow up the HV circuit. Thanks very much for any assistance. Lenny Stein, Barlen Electronics. |
