Default Is my telivision dead?

I have a 1992 29" Panasonic GAOO TV. It has been very well used and
has worked perfectly until now. When the TV is turned on for a few
minutes, the picture goes very dark with lines. There is still audio.
Doesn't matter if the VCR is on and the DVD(direct input). The
on-screen menus work though. Only the picture after a few minutes.
Does anybody know what's wrong?
