Magnavox RH8524A Alive again. Thx...
Just wanted to say thanks for the info and help on my old projection set. I
grabbed a set of boards from eBay, put the power supply in, replaced the crt coupling fluid in the blue CRT (it was the color of beer) and got the set going again. Who knows how long it will keep going however I'm having fun and learning a lot. I did remove the CRT and followed the replacement instructions in the service manual. Very easy; place on lens housing on an old towel, tilt assembly to fill expansion chamber, remove coolant chamber attaching bolts and lift off the crt. Pour out the old fluid, cleaned out with Windex, soap and water, refilled to same level. Put it all back together and it only required minor adjustment to get everything aligned. Onto the green and red CRTs next... Kirk S. |
