Default Replace degaussing thermistor in RCA TV

I have a 27" RCA TV that a someone gave me to fix and it had a discolored screen...taking a guess that it was the degaussing coil or it's circuit at fault; I found that the thermistor disc? was blackend. I moved it to check if it had a bad solder joint but the darn thing crumbled, now I don't know what to replace it with...It WAS a silver disc no larger than a dime and had two pins...I have junked TV's I could take a thermistor from. Does it have to to a perfect match? Thanks, Johnson

You should be able to use just about any two pin degaussing thermistor
from another TV.

Pending on the specific RCA Model and Chassis there may be a specific
thermistor suggested, however Andy is absolutely correct in posting that
almost any two legged degauss thermistor will suffice.
Since you neglected posting model and chassis then the generic answers are
generated.

Call any major electronics parts supplier, or the RCA service rep directly.
You can order a new thermo-resistor for your set. Just give them the model
number, circuit board location number, and the part description.

its called a PTC (positive Temperature Coefficient )or family of that
device. which really means nothing more than
it gaining resistance as it heats up via the
current passing through it that is energizing the
degaussing coil.
you should be able to use one from a junker.
