Brightness Control of Monitor
Christopher writes:
Hello, Since the day I received my Gateway Vivitron or CS1572 8 years ago it has had dim brightness (no detail in dark areas of photos). The normal controls on the front of the monitor are maxed out. Today I pulled the monitor cover and found two focus controls on the left side. There is a third Pot under the two focus controls that is "glued" into a fixed position, It is probably the screen/G2 control and will affect brightness. However, there may be another master brightness control somewhere, or it may be a menu item only accessible via special software. It shouldn't hurt to turn up the screen/G2 pot slightly. That may be all you need. --- sam | Sci.Electronics.Repair FAQ: http://www.repairfaq.org/ Repair | Main Table of Contents: http://www.repairfaq.org/REPAIR/ +Lasers | Sam's Laser FAQ: http://www.repairfaq.org/sam/lasersam.htm | Mirror Sites: http://www.repairfaq.org/REPAIR/F_mirror.html Important: Anything sent to the email address in the message header above is ignored unless my full name AND either lasers or electronics is included in the subject line.
