I need to build a basic TV antenna, "heavy duty" to withstand the weight of
large birds landing on the elements. Are there any sites which give design

Build it? OK, if that is your thing and you don't put a price on your
labor. But you might be better off buying one designed for cable-tv
head end use.

I do not know if this will help but a good book on Antenna design is
Antennas by Kraus Published by McGraw Hill.
I t should be available in the library. The book covers all antenna design
in detail.

Try getting a copy of the ARRL antenna handbook. Google it or search for one
on eBay.
