Default FLAT PANEL MONITOR

Hello,

Does any body have any experience working on Flat panel monitors.

This is my first one.
Its a DELL 1501FP
It appears to be made by Phillips.
Wish I could get some service info on it

Will only display one third of the screen correctly, the rest appears to be
some other scan rate.
Like a smeared screen.
Thats at 800x600

Dell website says it will support 1024x768 but it wont even display anything
readable at that rate.
Will not display set up function either.

Any ideas would help.
Thanks
John

There is little you can do with these beyond the very basics. Check
main/expected power supply voltages, make sure no connectors are loose,
esr the electrolytic capacitors, etc. You are not going to get a
service manual on these. Even if the service manual were available,
they get repaired to board level. As a result most times when they are
out of warranty the only source for a working board is another junk
unit as the manufactures rarely keep parts available long outside of
warranty, if at all.
