I have an old (13 year) B&O ME6000 television. When stereo is on, and
people hare talking, the "s"-sounds are scratchy.. When I turn into
MONO-sound the sound is perfect.

I have been told that the problem lies in the Nicam Decoder being
defect.

Anyone who knows if I can replace the old decoder myself? I am
electrician engineer... but maybee it isnt that easy???

Correct. Basically it is a PHILIPSGR2.4 chassis with slight
modifications, and a B&O specified IF/NICAM module. This module is no
longer available, and close to impossible to repair.

Often these faults come from bad caps (tm) on the mainboard, start
with changing ALL caps in power/deflection, and resolder the IF/NICAM
board. (in the tin can) - if no success, remove the Xtal in the
IF/NICAM box, you loose the stereo, but sound will be OK.

He he.. så mangler jeg bare, at få det oversat til dansk... :-) og
så er det frem med loddekolben...

Jeg har fået fat i servicemanualen til GR2.4, men det er ikke godt nok
vel? Der findes en specifik til ME6000 jo.. Men jeg må nok sige, at
konsollen i GR2.4-manuallen ligner ME6000 konsollen til forveksling.
