Default Sony multisystem TV model KV-T29CF1 will not autoprogram

I got this set in from a guy who bought it in Italy. It had unstable
vertical. I did some resoldering on the chip and around the HOT just
for good measure and it looks great now however I can't seem to figure
out how to autoprogam it for US NTSC channel allocations. It has two
front panel buttons which I've never seen before. One is marked "color
system" which gives you the options of: Auto, Pal, Secam, NTSC 3.58,
and NTSC 4.43. The other button is marked: "TV system". It has the
options: I, B/G, D/K, and M. I've tried the combination of auto on the
color and M on the system and athough channel programming does take
place the channels do not seem to program where they should. The VHF
channels are off and the UHF ones program up to around channel 32 or so
picking up all the UHF and assigning them arbitrarily it seems between
channels 14 and 32. I've tried different cominations of systems and
even the NTSC3.58 color setting but there is no difference. A call to
Sony was useless as well. They suggested I call Sony in Italy! That
would be an interesting conversation as all I can say in Italian is
Pizza. The guy uses a cable box so all he really needs is channel three
but right now channel 2 comes in on channel one and channel three comes
in on two. Does anyone know if this set should properly autoprogram
when used on an antenna in the US? And if so how do I do this? Thanks
very much. Lenny Stein, Barlen Electronics.

Did you even cheak if the Transponder 10090803392 is in working order
if not that than it has to be the person that is trying to work it.
