The propellant in many spray cans *is* propane.

I thought they had pretty much all gone to compressed air, due to
environmental concerns, plus safety.
I didn't know that a spray can could work as a flame thrower, until
my BIL showed me in the hair spray dept at Treasure City 35 years ago
