On Mon, 05 Sep 2005 07:50:08 GMT, the blithe spirit Gunner Asch
clearly indicated:

Because it takes the Feds 4 days to ramp up? Speaking of which..where
was the local first responders. The ones charged by the Feds to be
prepared for this sort of emergency? The ones that the Democratic
local and state government was supposed to provide.

The Curmudgeon Times, September 5th Edition
-------------------------------------------

The people of Nawlins failed to heed the warnings and beat feet.

The people who failed to beat feet also failed to prepare.

The mayor failed to prepare his city.

The governor failed to prepare her state.

FEMA failed to have instant resources standing by despite several
days' warning about the storm.

And Shrub fiddled while NO burned. A true leader would have told
FEMA/DHS to get off their asses and get something, anything, going
NOW, the day it happened. If our people aren't prepared for something
given half a week's notice, how much worse will it be when fecal
material hits the impeller (as someone recently said without
warning? Tangos are like that. Yeah, they are.

The only people we haven't heard about are those who used their
heads, got the f*ck out of Dodge, and are happily settled -anywhere-
else right now. They'd probably be nailed to crosses by the media (for
not saving all of their lazy neighbors) if they came out and told
folks about it, too.

The good news: More people will get the hell out of the way of large
storms in the near future.

The bad news: It'll probably cause more death and destruction as so
many try to leave at once, just before the storm hits.

Sheeple. Ya just gotta love 'em.
