They are jealous of people with a Prius.

Apart from the fact that cars/technology like it may actually help save
this world from it's current self destruction due to the current
occupant's obsession with 1mpg gas guzzling 4x4's just used to go down
to the shop round the corner ?

Lord Hall has one of those and shower which uses more water than what an
African village uses in a week.
