Let's not forget, based on Soviet archives made available to researchers in
1991, McCarthy proved to be WRONG in every case but one (possibly two) about
WHO those people were.

What are you talking about? McCarthy was damned because he refused to
name them. The one he did name was dead on a soviet agent.

Perhaps you're thinking of the House Un-American activities committee,
which DID make mistakes.

He knew something was going on, but he destroyed a lot of lives and careers
because he really didn't care who he painted with his brush.

Now I know you're talking about the HUAC. Senator McCarthy was a
senator, not a member of the house.
