The area's currently getting smartened up - fewer of the shops/bars are
boarded up or depressingly dingy than five years ago; but it's one of
those border areas - there are fine big Regency houses (some
multi-occupied, some single-household) rising up the steep hill in one
direction - so estate agents will stretch the boundaries of that area
(Cotham) egregiously far in their descriptions, while a coupla hundred
yards in the other direction lie the 'livelier urban' areas of
Montpelier and St Pauls.
