I am looking for a different type of shelf support than you usually see. The
piece that connects to the "shelf standard", and holds up the shelf, is not
a vertical piece that I want but a flat piece. It would look a little bit
like a standard shelf "clip" if the shelf clip were 10" long instead of the
usual 1" to 1 1/2" or so.
Anyone else seen something like that?

The bracket that hold up the shelf is virtually a flat piece of
metal
bent
at 90 degrees that hooks into the metal rail.
This is different from most other shelf support and rail systems in

design of the support. The flat side of the metal is parallel to the
floor.
Most of the other rail systems have the flat side of the support
perpendicular to the floor to give extra strength to the support.
There is a specifice reason for having the flat side horizontal. If

were
to put a book onto a shelf without checking where the support was, I
could
push it back into the shelf support and squash all the pages on that
edge,
thus ruining the book.
If anyone has any ideas where to find such a support, I would really
appreciate it.
