A fairly common method is to "water mark" the photos with your URL...
Most people in the US are used to this system and don't try to take
them out..
Another deterrent that you're already using is the use of low res
pictures... why waste time trying to remove a watermark from a low res
photo?
If you were willing to do the photo editing (a LOT of editing, for
your site) each photo could include a water mark of the URL and
artist's name, spreading both names internationally..
