Then either the Florence Nightingale or Jane Goodall complex kicks in. The
mangier, the sicker, the more obnoxious a pet is, the more the owner wants
to keep it and "help" it and "make it better".

Most people won't admit they bought a chucklehead dog, and just get rid of
it because that would be equivalent of admitting them made a mistake. So,
they just kick it outside.

Trust me on this. I was married to just such a person.
