I'm moving into a new house soon and will be looking to buy a new
carpet for one of the rooms.
I'll probably buy from one of the "sheds" (CarpetWorld etc.) but am
thinking of arranging delivery and fitting myself.
Is it possible to transport a piece of roll carpet, say 4m x 4m 50/50
wool twist for the sake of argument, in the back of a small
Fiesta-sized hatchback?
Would such a carpet roll fold over OK to fit in the back?
And how much would such a piece of carpet weigh? Is it a two-man job to
load and unload it?
Why not get a set of roof bars? They can be really useful for
occasional use with a small car.
Apparently the weight of carpet is roughly 5lbs/sq.yd.

so you'd be looking at around 40kg for that size.
