IIRC it's 1 3/8" minimum. Ask your local code enforcement officer; I
think it's a national standard. If you're going to be building a few
baby things, it's handy to drill a 1.5" hole in a board and use that
as a reference (it gives you some margin of safety).

8. To end on an unhappy note of discouragement; a sharp bowl edge
revolving at 1000 rpm can cut your pinkie to the bone.


I've had my thumb webbing slashed the same way. Not fun.
