Deutchmann If you read medical test reports on Ozone and Health Effects
you wouldn`t recommend Ionizers that produce Ozone. Unless of course
you sell them for a living.

The original Ionic Breeze output 50 ppb, the newer Quadra is twice as
power full ? So I guess it outputs 100 ppb ozone. But who did the
verification of their tests on ozone output ? I bet they can`t be
verified.

On TV Sharper image states the Asthma and Allery foundation suppors
the ionic breeze, Well I contacted the Asthma and Allergy foundation and
they stated they do not endose the product in any way but mearly agreed
with sharper images " claim". To me is doesn`t sound right. But they
refer then hundreds of articles on Ozone and its health effects. I have
this letter from the A.A.F. I can`t post it here but can forward it to
anyone. They also acknowledge the 50 ppb limit and to not excced it for
the government EPA 8 hr exposure limit.

The true point is Ozone is an oxidant, smaller doses may be harmfull
in long term continous exposure according to a lung specialist I have
talked to. As with cigarettes the exposure amounts for saftey have gone
way down in 15 yrs.

So do you really want to add something to your air that is proven
harmfull, even though it is in small doses ??

I'm just breaking into the thread so I don't know if this point has
been made. Most of the advertising literature never says ozone, they
say activated oxygen, but what they are talking about is ozone.
Regardless of the levels of ozone, some people are just plain
sensitive to ozone and even the minutest amount seem to have an effect
on them. Others of us not only are not adversely affected but in fact
enjoy the ozone effect. OTOH, there are a lot of materials in a
normal house that definitely do not like ozone and although the
deterioring effects might be quite slow, one might be quite surprised
at what has happended to something over a 2-3 year or longer period.
Rubber products are especially likely to be damaged.
