| multimeter. A schematic would just make it easier. I know there's
| a tantalum cap that blew up and there's something funny about that
| area of the circuit because it only measures ~1 V now without the cap.

I've fixed so many things without a schematic that I get annoyed when I
can't do this (more and more these days with custom ICs). I've even gotten
things to work at times by sheer dumb luck!
