The first thing to do is get into the menus and make sure the speakers are
turned "on". This is different than mute, mute simply shuts off all sound, but
is reset when the set is turned off. The speaker on/off will not reset itself.
You need the right Sony remote to set the speakers to on or off. If the
speakers are on and still no sound the audio output IC is probably bad or the
SBX1637 sound board. The set is worth fixing.


Also make sure the audio isn't set to SAP.
